Bkk bank freeze my account said dtv cant have account. What can i do
Answer summary
Many expats are experiencing issues with Bangkok Bank freezing accounts for individuals holding DTV (Digital Tourism Visa) status. Several users suggest that closing the account and withdrawing cash is the safest immediate action. Others recommend considering alternative banking solutions such as TrueMoney or Wise accounts, as their policies may be more accommodating to DTV holders. Some users have shared experiences that indicate a more lenient approach by different banks like SCB and K Bank, which might allow accounts for DTV holders without issues. However, it is advised to avoid any risky actions, such as assuming another person's account or not disclosing visa status, as these practices can lead to legal issues. Ultimately, due to varying bank policies, opening a new account at another bank could also provide a solution.

I would say that this endless discussions of having a bank in Thailand comes from people who haven't got any money, walking around in the Chang tank top and flip flops all day. If you walk in with proper clothing and are about to deposit 1 million and up into a fixed account upon opening and also have the proper documentation including tax residency there is no problem.
2) Open TrueMoney account, deposit some cash there at True ATM or True store (20k THB limit per deposit), you can now pay anyone QR codes via PromptPay, and online via their virtual MasterCard
3) Open a Wise account with your address in Thailand, you can now pay QR codes too, and you can use it as a real bank, only downside is you can't withdraw cash at ATMs in Thailand specifically, so keep some cash in your pocket
4) Transfer money from TrueMoney to your Wise account via its QR code (or via Swift international transfer maybe), so you can deposit your cash on TrueMoney then transfer it to Wise, but there is probably some limit per day or per transfer
Are you sure it is becoz of visa? One of my frd experiences same issue, later found out it is becoz she changed a new different phone number which did not match bank data. She sorted this, and the bank got activated again.
I opened my bkk bank account 4 years ago with a tourist visa, now 2years on dtv still have it. The fact is, banks dont know about your visa if you dont tell them
