What should I consider before doing a border run in Thailand with an expiring Covid extension?

Hi,

Can someone please advice -

My covid extension runs out on the 17th, I only have 3 covid stamps and I want to get out the country and come back (without any third parties).

Has anyone recently done a boarder run on their own? If so, how did it go and where did you go?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you πŸ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual seeks advice on conducting a border run from Thailand with an expiring Covid extension, specifically mentioning their intent to travel without third-party assistance. They are concerned about their current visa status, having only three Covid stamps remaining, and are looking for personal experiences from others who have done similar border runs recently.

Real experience. I had 6 covid stamps in my passport had no problem re-entering. i left the country for 5 weeks.

You will be asked at the border ...why you live in Thailand longtime without a longterm visa. They may assume you are working illegally and say get a longterm visa before we let you in.

"only 3 covid stamps" like that makes it any better. So with your original stamp that should make it at least 240 days in Thailand. And you expect the border agents to let you in when it's clear you've been living in Thailand on the wrong visa for 8 months? There's very little chance you can do it without any problems.

I'm giving you the facts. You're looking for an easy path that doesn't exist. Especially since even if someone says they entered easily, their situation isn't the same as yours. They'll have a different passport, different stamps, different border agent. Every individual border agent can deny for whatever reason they want.

Why no agency? I paid 2500 baht in 2019. easy.

more like 3500B.

You can just catch a bus to the Cambodian border, but you'll most likely need to spend a night there before coming back. Realistically once adding hotel and visa cost you might only be 1000B better off than with a company. Flying is probably the most comfortable way and spend a couple days in another country.
