What should I do if my visa extension in Thailand expires but my flight is after the extension date?

Hello everybody! Thanks for accepting me! I was reading the last updates regarding Covid extensions and I would like to comment my situation. I arrived in May entering with no visa and got stamped for 90 days. Last month I did the Covid extension and they gave me 2 months (until October 4). The problem is that my air ticket ( I bought a package that’s why I got a really good price) it’s November 3. I know I should have thought about this before… the air ticket has no change….. and yes I can say cheaper options can turn out to be expensive …

I thought to go out few days to Kuala Lumpur and then re entry, but now I’m afraid they won’t let me. Also if I use a different nationality passport ( I have 2 nationalities)you think it’s a good idea ?

And last question regarding what I read in last posts , Is it better / safer to re entry by land ?

Thanks for your time !!!!

🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their concerns regarding their visa situation in Thailand, mentioning they entered the country without a visa and received a 90-day stamp that was later extended for one month due to COVID-19. They are worried about their flight scheduled for November 3, after their visa extension expires on October 4. They considered exiting to Malaysia to re-enter but are uncertain about the process, especially regarding using a different passport due to dual nationality. Helpful comments from the community suggest that exiting and re-entering should be fine, as long as they can show proof of an onward flight within the 90-day re-entry period.

if when you showed up you got stamped in for 90 days you come from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru or South Korea.

So exit the country and come back in. You have ONE covid extension and you're from a country that gets a 90 day visa waiver entry stamp. You shouldn't have a problem coming back in.

BUT I would certainly have proof you're going to leave in the 90 days you'll be stamped back in for just in case they ask.

Don't fool with your two passports, it'll come up in the system that you're dual national if you do that and they will look at the other country entry history see you already were in 90 days, already had a covid extension and think you're hiding something or trying to trick them in some way.

Flying in will be fine, just show that you're leaving within 3 months when you go to get stamped in

thank you so much for your detailed explanation, definitely my anxiety levels went a little down. I’m confused about the passport stamping saying this ⬇️….

I shouldn’t think about making a re entry permit before. I just have to go out and come back

that is a covid extension you can tell because of the writing on it to the left above your thumb that says ข้อ 5 😛

that part about keeping your stay means IF you want to leave and come back DURING the validity of your stamp you get a re-entry permit <- it doesn't ADD any time to your current stamp. SO you don't want one.

You just need to exit re-enter, and your idea of flying out and back to get a new 90 day entry stamp should be fine

thank you again !! And one last question, I have to wait until my Covid extension is over to go out ? Or I can just leave for a few days next week? The anxiety is really killing me 😂😅

when you leave you lose all the days you have left on your current stamp as it cancels when you leave.
