Hi.

My non o thai children yearly extension is expiring end of august. I will be traveling in july and august and wont be able to renew on time (45 days before). I will be back in Thailand early September. Is this my only option when i get back : 30 day stamp + apply for 3 month non o visa after 10 days in then extend for 1 year OR can i get a visiting family 60 day extension before leaving ? ( never got one on my actual visa)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about their options for renewing a Non-O visa for their Thai children, as their extension was expiring while they would be traveling. They were considering returning to Thailand for a 30-day stamp and then applying for a 3-month Non-O visa or obtaining a 60-day family extension before leaving. Comments suggested visiting a local office for clarity and provided options for applying for extensions or visas before and after their travel.

You better go to your local office and talk about what you can do.

Bring fixed air tickets (an open ticket wouldn't do the trick) as proof you are not in Thailand during the application window.

- For 1-year extension application:

Some offices may allow you to apply for 1-year extension in advance when you can prove you are out of Thailand.

- For 60 days family extension:

Some offices add 60 days to your current stamp, while some set 60 days starting on the day of application.

If both are not working well for you, you have to give up the current extension. You do as you explained, or you can apply for an initial Non-O visa at the Thai embassy/consulate before you will be back.
