TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa allows for a stay of up to 180 days per entry in Thailand. However, visa holders are required to report their address to the local immigration office every 90 days. This reporting requirement is separate from the visa validity period and is mandatory for all foreigners residing in Thailand.

For the uninitiated, every foreigner is required to report 90 consecutive days of being in Thailand to the local immigration office with jurisdiction over where your latest TM30 has been filed.

I think you're referring to two different things.

First, the visa allows you to stay up to 180 days each time you enter ter the country.

Separately there is a requirement to provide an update to the local immigration office of your address every 90 days (this is not related to the visa).

My visa says nothing about days except valid until date. It’s the stamp in your passport from border control that counts
