What is the typical processing time for a DTV visa application in Vietnam?

UPDATE: Received my approval email with my DTV visa at 2:15pm today (Monday)!

Hi, I landed in Da Nang on Tuesday and applied for my DTV visa Tuesday night with the Hanoi embassy on the online portal. I got a request for additional documents (June bank statement and business registration) on Wednesday at 4:10pm and submitted them along with a cover letter within the hour. I showed them that I have 1.5 Million Baht in my accounts. I haven't heard anything from them since they requested the additional documents and I really need to figure out my travel arrangements. Has anyone else had a similar experience - if so, how long did it take to get a decision?

Right now, my status is Processing Pending Approval (1)

Didn’t the Thai eVisa system direct you to apply from the embassy in HCMC when in Da Nang? Hanoi is for different parts of Vietnam.

Just be patient 2 days is not generally enough time to complete the process

You could try emailing them and gently asking for an update or if any other docs are required. I did that and got an approval within the day.

It doesn’t seem Hanoi have a set pattern for approvals, I think you probably go to the back of the queue after submitting new docs so 2 days isn’t long and I’m sure you won’t have any issues. Good luck!

So when I understand right, now 2 working days passed and you already getting unpatient?

It can take a few days, but also a few weeks or even more.

For visa tourism you need time, always easier to apply in the country you live, then time isn't that important.

I understand that you have strong opinions but I see you hating under so many different people's posts and I can't grasp why. You don't understand other people's personal circumstances and seem to have a lot of time on your hands. My partner works full time in Thailand. I have to stay in Vietnam to get my visa and don't want to be alone when I receive the news of the results of my mother's cancer screenings. Please be more kind when you respond to other people. We are all human and all have a lot going on.

Anonieme deelnemer When you already live in Thailand the DTV is not the right visa for you. I can understand your personal circumstances make it difficult sometimes to do visa tourism, but it is your decision at which moment you apply, and when you don't have at least 2 or 3 weeks you better not do so.

The normal order is first making plans to travel or to move to another country, then arrange the paperwork and after that travel or move.

When you decide to do it in a different order you might run in the kind of complications you now see for yourself.

My comments are not hating, just to emphasize planning is important and getting a visa is always a bit tricky, no matter for what country and in which country you apply.

You should realize that at the moment you apply.

The fact that some people get approved in a few days, and that there is an average time is not something you can count on.

You always need to plan for a longer time, and even have a plan B when that longer time is not long enough.
