## Cambodia or Vietnam for DTV?

Just wondering if anyone has any insight on this.

In short, me and my girlfriend meet the requirements, just heard mixed things about filing for it in Cambodia vs Vietnam.

Does anyone have any feedback?

TLDR : Answer Summary
This conversation discusses the pros and cons of applying for a Thai visa in either Cambodia or Vietnam. Key points include the processing times at the Thai embassies in both countries, with Cambodia offering a 6 business day processing time and Vietnam providing a quicker 2-3 day turnaround. However, Vietnam requires an appointment for visa applications, which may have limited availability, while Cambodia allows walk-ins. There are anecdotal success stories from applicants in Ho Chi Minh City, highlighting quicker processing times there.

I've heard many successful stories from applicants in HCMC, with a 2 day turn around. What are the mixed things you've heard? (I'm also considering the same question as you re: where to apply from)

Turnaround time is quicker in Vietnam, but Vietnam requires an appointment, which I believe are mostly booked up for weeks. Cambodia is only walk in.

The primary thing is the time. The Thai embassy in Phnom Penh has a 6 business day processing time for visas. Vietnam is 2 or 3 days I believe. They have 2 consulates in Vietnam so you'd have to verify with the website of each one.

Laos I got my IB visa next day when papers were correct and approved to application by consulate. Teflon grease was needed🤣 Laos just need book time to do visa. When I was there that was walk in style..

Oh that's really useful to know - thank you man.

I think that probably cements us going to Vietnam to be honest.

Thanks for the super quick response mate

I just got mine in HCMC, very easy process and takes 2 days. However, there are no more online appointments. They are moving to Evisa in October and the wait will be up to 30 days they have said. Hanoi has appointments so might try them. I have heard 3 days for Hanoi. Good luck.
