The information I got from a previous post here was solidly correct. We came to Suvarnabhumi this morning around 5:30am and were able to get our re-entry permits with no problem. Here’s the process:
1) pay the guy and he prints out the completed form for you to sign.
2) he takes the form to a small office while you sit and wait.
3) the officer in the office comes out five minutes later with your re-entry permit completed.
4) you get a few dirty looks because the officer has you cut in front of the immigration line to go check out of Thailand.
5) you go inside and pay too much for coffee.
