Applied for evisa from Vietnam (HCMC) and it got approved last night. I applied last friday evening the 11th of october. On tuesday they requested additional docs. And this morning i woke up to see that the visa got approved last night.

Since I applied on friday night, and monday was a national holiday, it only took 2 working days to get my visa approved. It could have been just 1 working day, if I delivered the right documents the first time.

I applied as a remote worker as I have my own digital marketing business, so what I did was i just made a little document explaining what I do, who i work with, what my goals are in thailand, etc.

Then I just added a couple links to my main website and a link to some client case studies, but the problem was that my site is in Dutch, as i serve Dutch and Belgium clients.

So they requested additional information with the remark that everything should be in English or Thai. After that, I spent an hour or 2 to translate some key pages on my website to English. I also added a link to my Google My Business profile.

After this adjustment the visa application got approved.

For proof of location i uploaded another bank statement where I highlighted a recent ATM transaction in Da Nang.

Initially, the user applied as a remote worker with a digital marketing business, requiring English or Thai versions of documents due to language issues. They cleverly used a bank statement showing a recent ATM transaction in Da Nang as proof of location. When did you pay the visa fee? When you applied? Or only after you got approved?

After i submitted the application I made the payment. At that moment the visa wasn't approved yet

Did you need to go to the embassy in Ho Chi Minh to get your visa physically stamped on your passport or for something else? Or did you manage to complete the whole process electronically?.

I’m planning to go to Vietnam soon with my husband to start the DTV process, and we also need to apply for a dependent visa."

I hope you are doing your research before going to HCM. Check if you need a VISA to enter HCM. The entry stamp is the stamp on your passport by the Immigration Officer at the airport. You can only apply online while in HCM and your entry stamp at the airport is your proof that you are in the country. I urge you to search the posts in this Group as your payment is non refundable.

You showed your business bank account or your personal bank account for the amount needed?

Thanks for your info.

shoud we show the thai bank account? or any other country one?

how can we show our bank? by usd or by any currency?

Thai bank is not a requirement for DTV.

And DTV does not qualify you for getting a bank account, since DTV is a tourist visa and not a proper long term visa.

Great to hear. How many months bank statement? And did you have 500,000 baht on closing statement only or throughout?

I just uploaded 6 month statement just to be sure, cause I had over

0 thb on that account throughout the period. However I have also heard of people who just deposited a bunch of money on their account to get it above 500K thb and it still got approved.

Cool as this will be exactly my approach in November when I travel to Vietnam

Proof of location can't be Vietnam stamp on your passport?

@Liza *****
I thought of doing that before, but then I realized that there is not really any proof that the stamp in the passport is actually my stamp if I just take a pic of the stamp

were you not asked specifically to upload copy of entry stamp on your passport and hotel booking? I was under the impression that these are standard asks. Clever of you to prove your location via bank transaction.

no I wasn't asked for that. They just need proof that you are in the country and the ATM transaction proved that. You can also just upload 1 document if im not mistaken, so u need to get a bit creative. Otherwise I probably would have also uploaded multiple docs including entry stamp and contract at my apartment

Clever about the ATM transaction:)

I imagined taking a picture with a recent news paper in front of a landmark 🀣
