FYI: arrived Da Nang Sunday Oct 20. Applied evisa that night to Thai embassy in HCMC.
Documents were pdfs:
1. a single statement with funds in Australian bank account of 500,000 baht equivalent.
2. Proof of location: passport stamp into Vietnam and receipt from accommodation in Vietnam.
3. My work contract with my Australian company showing I can work remotely.
Evisa received via email on Wed Oct 23 at 10pm.
Now back in Thailand with a 180 day stamp on my passport.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully applied for a Thai eVisa while in Vietnam, providing necessary documents including proof of funds, accommodation, and a remote work contract. The eVisa was received quickly, allowing for a 180-day entry into Thailand. Community members expressed interest in the details of the application process and shared congrats.
I got a statement from my bank which was about 2 months to Oct 17. There was almost nothing in there at the beginning of that period, I transferred from other accounts and only had the total required for about a week before the statement date.
that’s what I wanted to know and hoped for as I am going to apply with a different countries bank account than my passport origin. So it seems there is no issue.
