What are the requirements and processes for obtaining a DTV visa in Vietnam as a remote worker?

I just got DTV in Hanoi, Vietnam today.

- applied on the last Wednesday.

- applied as a remote job employee for Myanmar company

- required documents are as described in their website plus your official stay permit in Vietnam: entry visa stamp to Vietnam and hotel booking confirmation should be okay for that.

- they mainly checked my supporting financial data and bank statement. It's better to prepare your salary pay slips if your bank transactions are not much enough. They wanted see many transactions in your bank statement.

- they will notify your application result and passport pick up date by email. So make sure email address you fill in visa application form is correct.

Good luck everyone

Is the pay slip transactions necessary for visa application?
Krisztián *******
hi, is it necessary to have my bank account balance above 500k every month for the last 6 months? or it is enough to have it for the last month? thank you

ORIGINAL POSTER
@Krisztián ******
only the last month balance 500k was ok for me.
Chris ******
Was your bank account number on the documents you gave them?
Anonymous *************
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Chris *****
yes. It was because I gave them bank certificate that verify my current balance.
Chris ******
Anonymous participant Astounding. I get 5-10 scam calls a day, and 10-15 emails trying to scam. If I do a DTV I will create a new account specifically for this visa and then lock the account.

@Chris *****
yeah. It's better.

Hi can I just provide my remote employment contract and bank account I'm also going Sunday but I don't have company registration document from my work
Paul *******
@Esther *****
It's always good to provide one but indeed, I haven't seen it mentioned as a requirement.

@Esther *****
company resignation is not mandatory in their requirements. It's possible to apply.
Phoo ******
I heard that criminal clearance should be needed in Vietnam ?is that true?

@Phoo *****
it's not true for my case.

Hi can you direct me to what documents exactly they require in hanoi? Is there a list online?

@Dylan ****
you can ask them by sending email. They usually respond in a few days.

Congratulations 🎉

I’m also planning to apply for DTV in Laos, but I have a concern: I only have 50 million kyats in my Myanmar bank account and 300,000 baht in my Thai bank account, which was opened yesterday. Will it affect my application if I can’t provide a 3-month-old bank statement?

central bank official rate is 1thb = 62 mmk. So, I suggest you have to ask your mm bank to make a certificate/letter that prove your account balance is 50 mil kyats and is equivalent to 800k thb . You need to ask them to include both currencies for your balance in that certificate. Anyway, if you can spend extra budget, I recommend you to apply in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam than Laos. HMC is more flexible in documents checking process.

Anonymous participant thank you for your information and advice

Congrats! It’s not that they wanted tk see many transactions in your bank statement though. They were checking if you were actually a remote employee and not just making it up.
Lo ****
Does the bank statement need to be stamped by the bank or can it be a statement that I can print from my mobile bank (it has a QR code with which you can check the amount in the account)?
Stephen ********
@Lo ***
Print an official statement. It’s not about the statement though. It’s about what’s in it. Proving you are a remote employee/business owner and proving you have the funds.

this is legit

Hey, bit of a silly question, but how strict were they with the dress code? Do have to be wearing trousers to enter?
Paul *******
@George *****
Masks probably not required anymore but can't say for sure. What I do know is that the Chinese visa application center, both in Hanoi and Bangkok (and other locations such as Kuala Lumpur) still require masks.

Masks are also required at the Malaysian consulate in Bangkok.

Now Masks weren't required when I visited the Thai consulate in Savannakhet, Laos nearly a year ago now but yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if some Thai consulates still do. Having said that, I think they've finally started to move on.

@George *****
not much. casual wear should be okay.
George ******
Anonymous participant ok awesome. many thanks

@George *****
Best to invest in a pair of trousers. As a matter of fact, I usually wear pants when in Thailand and traveling around the region unless I'm going to the beach, jogging or just going places casually. I always wear long pants to a consulate. A normal t-shirt should be OK.

A more important question being it's Thailand and the obsession this country has with mask wearing: are masks still required to get into the Thai consulate in Hanoi?
George ******
@Paul ******
yeah, my problem is i can't find a pair of trousers that actually fit me. I'm too big for asian sizes. it's like I'm putting on children's clothes

donno about the masks. but I haven't heard anyone mention it

Congrats! Were you required to give them company registration certificate/extract? Thank you

Win Thu Wun yes. I gave company registration copy. but I am not sure if it must be. It's better prepared

Anonymous participant Where you required to give bank statements over a certain time period or just to show the 500K equivalent in your account?

You got notification email today or picked up passport today?

If you applied for a remote job contract with a Myanmar company, do you need a labor EC contract in Hanoi?
Anonymous *************
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Thaw ***********
till now, no need to worry about it. Traditional ec worked for me.
