Hello

I am planning my trip back to Thailand on an STV (Special Tourist VISA).

I have an insurance related question.

I know i have to purchase two different types of insurance

- one is the general health insurance

- one is the COVID19 insurance from the covid19.tgia.org

I know the COVID19 insurance must cover my hole stay but how about the general one?

Does it have to cover the entire stay or just the first 90 days?

If somebody has knowledge or experience about it or know a trustable good english speaking insurance agent please let me know.

Thank you in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Special Tourist Visa (STV) to Thailand, travelers need to purchase two types of insurance: general health insurance and COVID-19 insurance from the specified site. While the COVID-19 insurance must cover the entire stay, there is some discussion about the necessity of the general health insurance having to cover the entire stay or just the initial 90 days. Various commenters suggested options for insurance that would cover both health and COVID-19 related incidents, emphasizing that some comprehensive health insurance policies may suffice if they include specific COVID coverage.

You health insurance must cover Outpatients and Inpatient care AND specifying that COVID is covered for Thailand for the whole time you are in the country.

Try Luma, it’s 8000 baht, and covers 90 days, and covers ALL that is required, with Covid....

You don’t need 2 different ones. Just make sure your health insurance covers covid costs someone like Axa etc.

You can use any insurer for the covid 19 coverage. It just has to cover $100,000usd and state in the policy or letter you receive.
