Looking for clarification on issue we have

Just applied for DTV e-visa in UK, paid fee and just waiting for approval which should literally be anytime now

However, we’ve just had an issue that is going to delay our arrival in Thailand by 3-4 months

Does anyone know if there is a set period that you have to enter Thailand in once DTV visa has been issued

Done internet research and one person said that there is no time limit on entering, but obviously the visa will only be valid for 5 years from date it was issued

Can’t find anything else regarding this

Any sensible answers welcome

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV e-visa issued for Thailand is valid for 5 years from the date of issue. There's no requirement to enter Thailand within a specific time frame after the visa is issued, allowing travelers to enter at any time during the 5-year validity period. However, some comments suggested checking with the Thai embassy for clarification.

Where is your evidence, I'm only going on what has been said on all the visa groups, not really bothered either way, but, would be good to see some documented facts over opinions 🤔

I heard 90 days

@Lee **********
no, it's 5 years, you can enter for the first time on the very last day of validity (4 years and 364 days after issue) and get stamped in for 180 days

@Graham *****
yes correct, I'm saying use in the first 90 days, that was the question

@Lee **********
No, it does not need to be used within 90 days of issue, it's still valid on the last day to get 180 days
Andy ********
You must enter within 90 days of issue.

Rubbish, if you don't know then don't answer.

calm down you sound a bit angry. Or follow your own advice, you don't know my experience so don't answer.

@Andy *******
your experience of a DTV?
Andy ********
@Graham *****
Not that it's any business of yours, and if you'd read my post you would know this, I've applied, been granted, and travelled with one.
Graham ******
@Andy *******
but it didn't state must be used within 90 days as it does on a Non-O etc
Andy ********
@Graham *****
no it doesn't and I never said it did as you would know if you read the conversation.

Quote "You must enter within 90 days of issue". This is not true for a DTV (or a METV, or a Non-OA which are also multi-entry Visas)

are you sure? Everyone else says not

well when I applied I was asked for a departure date which I wasn't sure of. I can't actually find the note but the accepted my explanation with the proviso that the visa must be used within 3 months. Maybe others have had different experiences, it happens, and i know I was asked for different things than others. But I am here in Thailand on the visa so it's all good.

I'll double check that, most visa needs to be first used in 90 day. Better safe than sorry. Just call the Thai embassy, hopefully they can give you a straight answer

you have no idea what you’re talking about boy

@Jack *******
fine and you do? I just had a single entry non O and I have 90 days to use it or lose it.
Graham ******
@Ray ********
that's totally different

A DTV is valid for 5 years from the date it's issued. You can enter Thailand as many or as few times as you want during the validity of the visa.
