Stupid questions, in a few months I will have to apply again for an extension of stay based on marriage (like I have now). And I always mix up the number of months that I need to have the 400k in my bank account. Is it 3 months or 2 months? I vaguely remember there is a difference between the first application and following application.

TLDR : Answer Summary
For applying for an extension of stay in Thailand based on marriage, you will need to have 400,000 THB in your bank account for at least 2 months prior to your application. This requirement is consistent for both initial and subsequent applications.

Not a stupid question at all.

The seasoning for the banked money method for an extension based on marriage is 2 months before you APPLY for your extension (not from the date your current extension expires)

Some offices will tell you when you apply and get the 30 day under consideration stamp that you need to leave the funds in the account until you come back to get the year extension as well.
