What is the duration of stay granted when entering Thailand with a multiple-entry tourist visa shortly before expiration?

Hi everyone, I have a question about the multiple-entry tourist visa. I know it allows for a 60-day stay each time I arrive, but what happens if I enter the country a week before my visa expires? Will I get stamped for 60 days or just 7 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand on a multiple-entry tourist visa (METV) shortly before it expires, you will receive a 60-day stamp regardless of how close you are to the visa's expiration date. Additionally, it is possible to extend your stay by applying for a 30-day extension, allowing for nearly 9 months of stay on a six-month METV. This process is similar for the Double Entry Tourist Visa (DTV), which can also be extended for a significant duration.

Same mechanism for the DTV by the way. One final bounce + one last extension should let you squeeze our almost 6 years (like the 9 months for the METV).

and you apply for a 30 days extension as well. That鈥檚 how you can stay for almost nine months on a six months METV.

You'll receive a 60 day stamp every time you enter Thailand within the validity of the visa. Even if you enter on the last day the visa is valid, you'll still receive a 60 day tourist visa stamp.
