Is the METV the same as the SETV in the sense that it has a period of validity but your time starts running from your day of entry.? With the SETV your 60 days is stamped in your passport " admitted until". Is it the same for the METV? If so how do you get the longest time on a METV?. I get that you can extend each 60 day entry by 30 days but you are screwed if that takes you over a 180 day "admitted until" stamp or what???
TLDR : Answer Summary
The Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) and Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) differ in validity and duration of stay. The METV is valid for 6 months from the date of issue and allows multiple entries, granting 60 days upon each entry, which can be extended for another 30 days at immigration. To maximize your stay on a METV, it is recommended to time your visa application close to your entry date and to exit and re-enter Thailand before the visa’s expiration to gain additional 60-day stamps, though the total stay cannot exceed approximately 9 months.
