If I let "my embassy" to make an Income letter for income year 2025, and the letter is dated in Sept. 2026! - Can the immigration than say..."its too old"? This is for my 1 year extension and my income is well above the 800 ktbh.
Answer summary
The post discusses concerns regarding the age of an income letter issued by an embassy for a visa extension in Thailand. The user questions if an income letter dated in September 2026 will be deemed too old when applying for a one-year extension, despite the income itself being from 2025. Comments suggest that many immigration offices accept income certification no older than six months, and there are discussions about potential changes in embassy services, especially from the Swedish Embassy, which will stop issuing income letters after October 2026. The conversation also touches on alternative options for meeting financial requirements for visa extensions.

Hi Uffe. I also submitted an affidavit to Immigration(proof of income) Immigration requested that this be no older than six months. There is however no stated timeframe just a general statement..Clear as mud as always:-)

Ask your immigration how long they accept an income letter after it is issued. Many accept 6 months after it is issued.

However, not all.

And Yes, it is true that the Swedish Embassy/Consulate will stop issuing income certificates from

-2026. More information in the link below.

Yes! From what I understand, the Swedish Embassy will stop this service of making Income letter, the 2026 10 01. Do not know WHO can make this for next year??

if that's the case then it'll be like every other embassy that has stopped.

You can get one final letter just before they stop, and that letter will be valid for 6 months.

You cannot use embassy letters anymore after that. Your only option is 800,000 baht in your Thai bank account, or showing your Thai bank statement that has a 65,000 baht minimum international transfer every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for your extension. You'll have to do that every year moving forward. If you miss a month even by a single day late, you won't be able to apply for your next extension and will have to leave and start over from a new 90 day non-O visa.

Nongnuch Kamdee I will not go that route either.

1. Transfer 70.000 tbh every month.

2. Stop to live here..just come some winter months!

Will se how I do..

Uffe Trader and that one more option you mentioned, would be to pay an agent the bribe money they need to make Immigration ignore that you got no own funds. This option will put you into the agent's hamster wheel, and you will need to use them again and again. Myself I would rather put my 800,000 THB into my Thai bank account and find a nice slumbersome sleep every night and peace of mind, knowing all I am doing is the legal route

If your embassy provides an income certificate then that should be good enough as long as it is no more than 6 months old
