Hello guys. I would like to have a question. I know it is not visa related but i dont have a clue where i can get any information about. So today we went to the Land and Transportation office(i think is called that)to try to apply for my driving licence. The next available date is 25th. When i handed over all my papers the woman just mentioned why i do not have a red or yellow book(cant remember which colour she mentioned). I heard something about this book but i thought that book is only for those who have the 1 year extension based on marriage. If i could have that red or yellow book why the Immigration officer did not mentioned yesterday? Anyone information will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the yellow house book, which is necessary for applying for a driving license in Thailand. They were confused about why they needed this document and whether it was relevant to their visa situation. Responses clarified that the yellow house book can be obtained from the local Amphur office and serves to confirm residency, similar to the blue house book used by Thai citizens.

It is clear what to yellow book is and how to get this. Thanks and as you mentioned, it is not really visa related so I close the commenting.

Your first port of call to get a yellow house book is your local Amphur. They will tell you exactly what they require. They all have different requirements. 99% of the time, be prepared for days of running around in ever increasing circles.

That is the best advice here. I got mine quite easily, but the first thing to do is see what the Amphur in your area requires.

It’s shows ownership of Home or Condo what you need is a resident certificate from local immigration office

It is not a proof of ownership of home or condo. Tabien baan is literally house registration which lists all foreign individuals holding a ‘Temporary Stay’ or a ‘Long Stay’ visa/visa exemption who live at the condo or house address specified in the house registration book

She mentioned the yellow house book, you can apply for it at the Amphur in your area. It is the same as the blue house book for Thai people, but for foreigners in yellow.

No, I have no idea. Still did not apply for one.
