Going out country for 2 to 3 months what's the cheapest way to keep your phone account , I'm with ais and top up monthly, can you top up outside Thailand, don't want to lose my number as need to update everything when i get back

Specialy with the bank they will put my account on hold

Thanks 🙏
Answer summary
To keep your AIS phone account active while traveling outside Thailand for 2-3 months, you can top up your account using the AIS app or your Thai banking app, both of which allow international access. Ensure your account stays in credit to avoid losing your number. Setting up auto-pay through your bank or using a credit card is also a viable solution. Additionally, purchasing a tourist eSIM is an option if needed during your stay.

Can anyone tell me if AIS is still doing a 60 day tourist eSIM that I can get from a AIS shop in Patong?

As long as your account is in credit you will not lose it due to short out of country periods but your plan will expire and you'd need to get a new plan on your return (unless it renews automatically when you have sufficient funds).

Would this work similarly with an eSIM? I’ll be in Thailand for about 2 months and would like not to have to get the tourist eSIM.

At least my DTAC prepaid card gives 30 days extra for each top up, with a cap at 12 months running. No matter how small amount. It is also possible to buy a prolongation. No problem to top up the app from abroad using foreign credit or debit cards. I keep my sim alive although we only visit Thailand every 10 or 12 months. It is also great to use in neighbouring countries like Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia.

Just top up your account 3 times for a small amount. It will give you 3 months more. You can top up in advance up to 1 year.
