Hi Everyone!

Would love some insight on the below.

I’m currently living in Dubai , freelance social media transitioning to a remote setup looking to apply for the DTV.

I watched a YouTube video detailing the process of application, my main concern is proving where I’m going to stay in Thailand and flight reservations.

Basically I want to apply now but I don’t intend on locking down accommodation until it gets approved,

How did you approach this?

A little bit confused on this.

Also did you have to show proof of a return ticket reservation or just one way?

Thank You

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses concerns about applying for a DTV visa from Dubai, specifically regarding proof of accommodation and flight reservations. Users in the comments suggest that applicants do not need to lock in accommodation before approval and can provide a tentative address for their stay. It is also common to state intended flight details without purchasing a ticket, allowing for flexibility. Some users mention using a refundable hotel booking as a temporary solution.

From what’s been shared, you usually don’t need to fully lock in accommodation upfront, many people use a temporary booking (refundable hotel or short stay) just to support the application, then finalise plans after approval.

Same with flights, some go with a reservation or one-way first, then sort the return later depending on their plans.

It can vary a bit depending on where you apply from, so worth keeping things flexible.

If you’re going down the Muay Thai route, we run structured training at WKK Gym in Bangkok and can guide you on what’s typically needed from the gym side for the application.

Happy to discuss more if helpful 👍

Unless the YouTube video was from Thai immigration or an embassy, I wouldn't put any weight in it at all

I didn’t show any return ticket and gave address details of a tentative rental, and all was good 😊

On the one and only application website, the question is about INTENDED flights.

You approach this to think about a flight to Thailand, on a certain date, look if possible and just put that date in the box and below the flight number.

As it is intended you can change when ever you want without making a booking.

Same as accommodation, you can put in an address of the place where you might go to stay, it does not have to be a booked and pre-paid airbnb.

The application website has a user manual, try it out
