I have a question regarding work visas for Thailand please.

My husband and I are hoping to come and stay in Chiang mail for 6 months and we can both work online.

Just wondering which visa would be best for this situation and length of time. If he likes it there we may want to extend our time.

Thank you for any info

Answer summary

For a stay of six months in Chiang Mai while working online, the best visa option is the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), which is specifically designed for individuals working remotely for companies outside Thailand. The Long-Term Resident (LTR) Remote Worker visa is also an option, but it comes with stricter requirements. The DTV allows for easier multiple entries within a five-year period.

There are only 2 visas that allow for your situation. The LTR Remote Worker or the DTV. The LTR one is very specific and difficult to satisfy the requirements, so I'd go for the DTV

Only visa that allows working on-line for a company outside Thailand is the

Destination Thailand Visa.

A DTV would be your best bet

I wondered if that would be best. That allows us to enter multiple times over 5 years?
