This may seem fairly basic and I know there’s been a lot of posts but despite searching I still don’t see a clear answer.

So, 30 day extension on a 45 day visa exempt entry in Chiang Mai:

Do I or do I not need to get a tm30 from my landlord? Is there not a fixed answer for this?

There’s no departure card so I think that, tm30 aside, what I would need is:

photocopies of passport (entry stamp + main page), 1 photo, 1900B and form filled in on arrival at immigration office?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Chiang Mai, for a 30-day extension on a 45-day visa exempt entry, a TM30 receipt from your landlord is generally required. While no TM6 is needed if you entered Thailand by air, you will still need photocopies of your passport (entry stamp and main page), one photo, 1900 Baht, and a filled form at the immigration office.

Chaing Mai Immigration office is supposed to require a TM30 receipt for a tourism extension.

No TM6 is required currently if you entered Thailand by air.

You will get all forms at the immigration office.
