Hi! A couple questions about moving to Thailand for 3-4 months (I'm double vaccinated):
* Once I get the 90-day tourist visa, is it possible to extend it?
* After 14 days with the sandbox program am I able to go elsewhere in Thailand?
I'm looking to move to Chiang Mai.
Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of extending a 90-day tourist visa for a 3-4 month stay in Thailand and the travel options after participating in the sandbox program. Responses clarified that the typical tourist visa is a 60-day visa with a potential 30-day extension, and that after 14 days in the sandbox program, travelers can visit other provinces, though local restrictions may apply.

After 14 days in the sandbox program you are able to travel to other provinces within Thailand but there are local travel restrictions that are changing daily so it’s not possible to say whether you could go to XYZ province as yet.
I’m assuming you mean the 60 day tourist visa with an extension for 30 days. There is only one 30 day extension available for that visa. However they may be still selling the “unable to travel due to Covid” extension when you apply. Currently the last date for that is September 27th. Although that date may change. We just don’t know yet.
yes. Most offices ask you to get the “regular” 30 day extension off a tourist visa or visa exempt entry first and then you can apply for the Covid extension.
yes but it’s seriously subject to change on a daily basis right now because of the Covid situation here. I couldn’t say one way or the other if travel to XYZ will be allowed tomorrow let alone in 2 weeks.
