The posts discuss the current low tourist numbers in Thailand, particularly during the rainy season, juxtaposed with mentions of higher flight prices due to COVID-19's impact on the airline industry. Some comments suggest the situation could improve with upcoming long holidays, while others express concerns about the long-term effects of the pandemic on tourism in Thailand and speculate whether the country will ever recover to pre-COVID visitor levels.

A near total decimation of the industry, through a combination of cowardice, ignorance and hubris. It could take many years to recover. Is Thailand being forgotten? You decide.

We were there three wknds ago and it was very busy. The Thursday night that we arrived was quiet but by Friday night, it was super busy.
we shall see, its very possible that COVID and the worldwide economic situation will make it so that the numbers of tourists Thailand is used to will be but a shadow of its former self....
