TLDR : Answer Summary
The posts discuss the current low tourist numbers in Thailand, particularly during the rainy season, juxtaposed with mentions of higher flight prices due to COVID-19's impact on the airline industry. Some comments suggest the situation could improve with upcoming long holidays, while others express concerns about the long-term effects of the pandemic on tourism in Thailand and speculate whether the country will ever recover to pre-COVID visitor levels.

I am here in Hua Hin for a two week holiday from Udon Thani. I have noticed a lack of people as well. Where are all the millionaire tourists?

A near total decimation of the industry, through a combination of cowardice, ignorance and hubris. It could take many years to recover. Is Thailand being forgotten? You decide.

of pre-Covid tourist numbers this year.

Thailand is expected to be looking at a minimum 5 years before its overall economy gets back to pre Covid levels

I’m flying VietJet and the price is very reasonable. That’s domestic; international is pricey.

I traveled early this year to enjoy fewer tourists.
