TLDR : Answer Summary
If you report your stay late after the 90-day period in Thailand, you will incur a fine of ฿2000 during your next immigration service interaction. It doesn't matter whether you are 8 days late or 6 months late, the fine remains the same. Many commenters suggest there's no need to rush to pay this fine as it won't affect your legal standing, but it's still advisable to address it during your next scheduled visit to immigration.

Fine. I fukked this up once because I stupidly forgot one of the months had 31 days. I turned up on the 8th day of the 7 days after. Costly mistake for poor math

Thanks for the reminder…

Being hanged drawn and quartered.
Your mortal remains scattered liberally around the Kingdom and your head stuck on a spike outside immigration as a warning to all.

And here come all the soothsayers to tell you of stories of woe about being banned from Thailand for not doing so. Except that it’s not actually breaking any law its just not fulfilling the requirements of your immigration office. As Brandon said it doesn’t matter if you’re 8 days late or 80. The fine is still the same. No reason to go out of your way to notify until your next interaction with immigration.
By leaving the country and “resetting” the clock could work but an eagle eyed officer may spot your last missed notification and fine you anyway.
2000₿ fine next time you use an immigration service. Don't go out of your way to go pay the fine because it's the same amount whether 2 weeks late or 6 months late. Just wait until the next time you're going to immigration already and apologize and pay.
Yes but the next time you go for 90 day report they might notice and fine you then. Leaving the country doesn't change the fact that you failed to report in the past.
sounds like you've been milking visa exempt and extensions of them. You won't get a yearly extension of a long term visa if you don't have a current up to date 90day report. I'll send you a bill for 2000 baht.
no, non-b work visa extension and I leave the country annually so it’s not an issue…in 16 years I’ve never done a 90 day and neither does anybody who really understands the system and leaves the country at least once a year
