TLDR : Answer Summary
Filing a 90-day report in Thailand late by 10 days will incur a fine, typically set at 2000 baht. This fine applies if the report is submitted more than 7 days late. While enforcement of the fine may vary depending on the province, it is advisable to file online to possibly avoid direct penalties. Some users have noted variation in the enforcement of the fine.

Msg to people who post a lot in this FB group: PLEASE be more nuance and accurate/precise in your answer. The 2k baht fine is OPTIONAL. It's enforced sometimes depending on which province you reside in.

I heard that people falling outside legalities in Thailand may be subjected to systematc torture .. But they are really polite about it , and they even smile ..

Usually 15 days before or 7 days after…

Try to do it online and not in person.. you may be lucky and just have it approved electronically rather than sitting in front of Immigration guy and reaching in your pockets for baht. 😐

After 7 days late you'll be fined. The fine is the same whether it's 10 days late or 10 months late.

Is the reporting still valid if it’s filed on time but getting approved late?

yes. But they could reject it so the only way to make sure is to go in person.

Reports are that Bangkok is rejecting all only TM47 submissions that are not submitted at least 7 days before the due date for example.
