What happens if I am approved for a DTV visa but only travel to Thailand years later?

Hi all,

This might be a silly question, but what if I get approved for a DTV visa now and only travel to Thailand at the end of 2026? Would the immigration officer mind that I waited so long to enter the country?

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community consensus indicates that once approved for a DTV visa, there is no issue with entering Thailand years later, although the embassy typically expects travel to occur within 3 months of approval. It's advisable to mention a travel date within the 3-month window during the application.

Tell them travel date within 3 months while applying. Once it's approved, "your visa, your choice."

If it gets approved (the embassy generally want to see travel within 3 months) then it’s not an issue when you actually use it.
