What does the stamp stating 'certification of residence must be made every 90 days' mean for my O-A visa extension?

As I posted last Friday October 18 I received an extension to stay based on retirement of my O-A visa. However there is a stamp I just noticed which has me confused. The stamp states “certification of residence must be made every 90 days.” Is this in reference to the 90 day report or something completely different? If this is in addition to the 90 day report that’s an awful lot of reporting I’m having to make!!! Not only that, these are going to be on different dates? perhaps Im getting myself confused unnecessarily. 🥴

TLDR : Answer Summary
The stamp indicating that 'certification of residence must be made every 90 days' refers to the normal reporting requirement for foreign residents in Thailand, commonly known as the 90-day report. This report is necessary for those on visa extensions, including those related to retirement. It's crucial to note that this 90-day reporting period starts from your initial entry into Thailand, or from the date of your last 90-day report, not from the date of your visa extension. Therefore, you should ensure to adhere to these reporting requirements based on the dates outlined in your visa documentation.

Its 90 days from day you enter or from last 90 day report. Its not 90 days from this extension which is how I read it the first time I messed up. So it can confuse some people as it is written in the extension.

that is not correct. your FIRST extension of stay counts as starting the 90 day count down clock for you to make your first 90 day report.

It has nothing to do with the time you've been in the country BEFORE you applied for your first extension on the visa you're on.

They give you a paper that states when your 90 day report is due when you get your extension. It looks like this.

IF you are talking about the stamp UNDER your yearly extension that's like this, follow

's advice. It's just a notice telling you NOT to forget that on extensions you have to do 90 day reporting

Don’t forget it’s 90 days from the day you actually enter Thailand. So the day you enter is day one!

Yes, you're getting yourself confused unnecessarily. It is the normal 90 day reporting when you are 90 days inside Thailand. Check the date for the next report.
