TLDR : Answer Summary
The "flowery corners" refer to the marriage certificate issued by the Thai government, which is typically recognized by its rose border. This document is important for expats, especially when registering marriages in Thailand or applying for visas such as the NON-O visa. It is recommended to present the original wedding certificate when asked, regardless of its appearance.

I think the problem comes from where I wrote "the one with the rose border" on it. AND that was because most foreigners get married here and will immediately identify the correct document by that description.
Just show your marriage certificate from the UK, and you should be alright. I have read no reports of people being denied the Non-O visa in Savannakhet because they used one.
Correct, Savannakhet ask for the original wedding certificate. If you are not married in Thailand, it is not the I;m married in Thailand wedding certificate.
