I just got a new passport so I'm going to go to immigration to have my current stamps transferred over. Is there any documentation I need to do this, other than the new and old passports?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer your immigration stamps to a new passport in Thailand, you generally need your old passport and your new passport. However, specific documentation requirements may vary by immigration office and the type of visa you hold (e.g., retirement visa, tourist visa). It’s advisable to check the specific requirements of the office you visit, as some may require additional documentation like a receipt from your embassy or copies of specific stamped pages. The process can include filling out a transfer form and there may be a small fee.

I recently transferred my visa to a new UK passport @ Sakaeo Immigration ... just fill in transfer form and show receipt from HMPO for payment job done totally FREE process 👍

I did this recently at Udon Thani Immigration. The IO transferred all my Non-O Retirement stamps to my new passport and initialed them

It was a pretty detailed process and the fee was 500 baht-to me it was a very reasonable fee for quite a bit of work. I was a happy camper.

Many embassies no longer issue a letter stating you’ve got a new passport xyz number from abc number. As
@Bra****
says it’s office specific and sometimes even what stamp you had specific. For example in Phuket with a tourist entry stamp you’d need to fill out the “transfer stamp to new passport” form and a copy of your old passport, copy of last entry stamp and copy of new passport. But if it was a a “retirement” stamp you’d need a copy of every stamped page of your old passport too.

Yeah I didn't get a letter from my embassy so this should be fun. I'll be taking my Thai girlfriend with me so hopefully she can help get past the "we don't get those letters from the US embassy anymore" part of the routine... thanks

you will need to provide a copy of every page of your new passport and your old passport every page they do have a form for you to fill in at immigration, you can download the form from the immigration website, also you will be asked for an additional copy of your bank statement from the last year period This is to make sure that you have not dropped the money below the

immigration offices know those embassies that don’t issue the letters anymore, so it shouldn’t be an issue. Just copies (or copious copies). Some may try and charge a fee for the service but it should be free.

What office?

I did mine at Jontiem and the girl asked for a letter from my Embassy. I made a bit of a fuss not loud but determined and an officer came over and over ruled her and it was done.

Ok thanks. I got no letter with the new passport so looks like all I need are the old and new passports plus a form I'm sure immigration will have for me.
