Do I need a document from my embassy to transfer a stamp to my new Thai passport?

Hi, I made a new passport and now I need to transfer the stamp to the new passport at immigration. When I picked up the passport at my embassy, I asked for the document from them, that I have a new passport.

They said itโ€™s not needed anymore!Just go with the old and new passports and it will be ok!

Is this true?

I always needed a document from my embassy in the past when going to immigration to transfer a stamp.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The recent changes to Thai immigration rules indicate that a letter from your embassy is no longer required to transfer your visa stamp to a new passport. As of April 2023, many embassies, including some Canadian posts, have stopped issuing these letters. Users have shared experiences confirming that simply presenting both the old and new passports at immigration suffices for the transfer process.

I just did this in Jomtien immigration. No form or payment required.

This is what I got from the Canadian embassy. Dealing with it right now as well.

There's NO longer a need to have a letter from your home country Embassy to Thai Immigration for the transfer of your documents into your NEW passport...as of April 2023.

Some Embassy's still do, but not needed

Immigration isn't supposed to ask you for it anymore. The embassies have stopped issueing these letters so even if you needed it, you couldn't get it regardless. Here's one example.
