My husband (Thai) and I just married last week. I would like to apply for my non o visa ASAP. I’ve read a few articles stating that I need to bring copies of my condo lease, landlord blue book and ID. Can anyone confirm this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user, recently married to a Thai national, seeks advice on applying for a Non-O visa in Thailand. They ask about required documents, which include a condo lease, landlord blue book, and ID. Responses clarify that application procedures depend on current visa status and location in Thailand. Key points include the necessity to apply at the main Bangkok Immigration office at Chaengwattana, ensuring at least 15 days remain on the current visa, and obtaining a list of required documents from the immigration office.

GO to Chaengwattana to section C-1, get the hand out, it lists everything you need and then you'll know what's what

Good Luck

And we are done. Let's not get the cart before the whore :O errr cart before the horse I mean.. How about she gets a Non-O visa first, THEN gets a yearly extension, THEN gets thru 3 years of extensions and THEN she can contemplate thai citizenship <- which BTW has NOTHING to do with thai visa advice.

Okay, there we go (y)

You apply at main Bangkok Immigration office at Chaengwattana in section C-1 for a 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai.

You (and your thai husband) should go out there and get the hand out that they have in that section which lists the documentation you need to apply for it

You will need at least 15 days left on your current entry stamp to apply for the 90 day Non-O visa <- that's because the application will go under consideration for 14 days once you apply and then you go back and get the 90 day stamp and a Non-O visa inked into your passport. It costs 2000baht to get an in country Non-Immigrant visa issued.

You WOULD need proof of residence (lease, etc) and proof you or your land lord filed a TM30 form on you.

BUT as far as the other documentation go get the hand out. You have plenty of time left on your 60 day tourist visa entry, you haven't even gotten a 30 day extension yet, so there is no gun to your head to pull this off without proper planning.

thank you soooo very much!!!! This is a HUGE help!

The reason I asked where you are in thailand is because you can't pick and choose what immigration office you go to. You use the one that serves the zone where you live. :O

Keep in mind not every immigration office can do the in country conversion from a 30 day visa exempt a 60 day tourist visa or a 30 day extension on one of those to the 90 day Non-O visa.

So let's try this one more time. :P

Where are you in thailand?

Currently on 60 day tourist visa which will expire on December 2. I can extend for another 30 days though. Previously had 1 year student visa. I’m happy to apply in or out of Thailand for the visa. I guess I’d like some advice on which office/location would be best to apply. Thanks so much!

Yes she can do. As everybody an do if you meet the requirements and living near an Immigration Office which is liable to do this

The one in your area, the place where you live. It is not a roll the dice and pick one of the 70+ Immigration offices nationwide

How about stating what type of visa you're currently on now, how many days you have left on your entry stamp AND what immigration office you'd be applying at to get the 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai?

Answer those questions and you'll get some good advice ;)

That all depends on where you like to apply for this visa? If you like to do this at a Thai Immigration Office in your area, you first have to ask if it is possible to convert from your current stay into the Non Immigrant O visa at that office and if yes, you can directly ask the hand out with requirements. If the office can not convert your stay, you have to visit an Thai Consulate or Embassy and apply there.
