TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Thai marriage visa, particularly if you're already married to a Thai national, the required documents can vary by immigration office. Generally, it's recommended to apply for a Non-Immigrant O visa based on marriage before arriving in Thailand. It's important to check with your local Thai embassy for the most accurate requirements. If you were married in the USA, ensure your marriage certificate is authenticated before traveling to Thailand. Upon arrival, you can convert your 60-day stamp into a one-year visa, but make sure you have a place to stay, as immigration may verify your marriage at your residence.

Get the Non Imm O visa based on marriage from your local RTE before you travel to Thailand

Are you asking what should you bring from America? In order to qualify for a marriage visa in Thailand?

Nothing that I know of since you are already married. You could simply fly here and receive your 60 day stamp and she would walk in with her passport. Then you just apply here and go from your stamp to your 1 year. You would need a place to stay here in Thailand as the immigration office sends officials to your residence to verify the marriage?

Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

Lots more than that. They won't recognize the marriage if the documents aren't translated and certified, along with a myriad of different requirements. The non-O based on marriage should be requested from the spouses country of origin. The Thai embassy and consulates can provide the list of requirements. It involves a minimum of money in a Thai bank and a whole bunch of other stuff.

The OP needs a Non Imm O visa before applying for a 1 year extention of stay. Much easier to get that in the US.

not really. It happens all at once right here back to back. Stamp to non-o to 1 year. If you live in a state like Montana…good luck finding an embassy.

Yeah, fraudulently obtained by an agent. Good luck looking over your shoulder!

I life with aversion to all risk must be very boring. We all take our own chances, but I’m sure there are zero skeletons in your closet, correct?

WTF has that got to do with the OP obtaining a visa.

You know you've lost the discussion!

Apply for a non immigrant visa prior to coming. That way you should be able to get a Thai bank account relatively easily.

Each office will have different requirements to get the one year extension of stay but here are the requirements of the Phuket office. They probably won’t be too much different for yours - but they could be.
