TLDR : Answer Summary
To marry your Thai girlfriend in April and obtain a Non-O visa, you have several options. You can arrive on a visa-exempt status, get married, and then apply for a Non-O visa, which will likely require multiple visits to immigration. Required documents generally include copies of your passport (bio and stamp pages), your departure card, marriage certificate, and proof of financial stability such as a Thai bank account with at least 400,000 THB. Alternatively, you could apply for a Non-O visa at a Thai consulate in a neighboring country before arriving in Thailand.

You have some ideas, get married first, then decide where you like to apply for a visa. Good luck.

You have the choices to go... all different process, requirements, and time you need,,, considering to cover first whole year,
1. get single entry Non-O outside Thailand to enter (UK or in SEA), then get 1 year extension meeting requirements for extension including financial proof (1 visit to Consulate/embassy + 2 visit local immigration office, no need to go outside Thailand after single entry Non-O)
2. enter Thailand on tourist status (SETV or visa exempt), apply single entry Non-O at local immigration office if they allows (not all immigration office does), then apply 1 year extension meeting both requirement (of course including financial proof (total 4 visit local immigration office, possible one visit to consulate for SETV if you want. No need to go out of Thailand once you enter)
3. get multiple entry Non-O based on being married to Thai national. Several consulates around SEA issue this. Two of them doesn't require financial proof (1 visit to consulate, no visit local immigration office. border bounce ( = getting out of Thailand and back) every 90days).

I recently recieved my 1yr extension based on marriage to a Thai.I got my non imm O from UK before I left.
I believe some neighbouring countries will issue non imm O.
I was not aware you could get thai non imm O Visa in Thailand but I'm not 100% sure.
... you can't get the non imm O spouse, in Thailand, only extension of stay based on it.

Which non O do you want, single entry 90 days or 1 year multiple entry?

You have a few options.
You
Could arrive on a visa exempt. Get married and then start the process.
This would take about 4 visits to your local immigration. (This is assuming you will be living in an area which immigration has the authority to covert your visa exempt to a non o)
The documentation required generally will be as follows
2 x copies of:
Passport bio page
Passport stamp page
Departure card
Marriage cert (Rose border)
Kor ror 2 (Marriage doc from your local Amphoe)
Wife’s tabian ban
Wife’s I’d card
Wife’s doc that states her name has been changed (if it’s different to what’s on the ID card)
Picture of you and wife outside the house, inside the house, kitchen, bedroom etc.
map of where the house is.
Either 400k thb in a Thai bank account for 2 months OR 12 months of deposits of no less than
*****
thb in a Thai bank account.
(I’m sure I’ve missed something but that’s off the top of my head)
If you do arrive on a visa exempt and don’t currently have a bank account the process will take about 3 months.
1st visit to immigration will be to extend your stay. This will mean you will have been here 60 days.
By this time your money will have been “seasoned”
You will then go back to apply for the non o.
You will then be put “under consideration”. You will go back again to collect the passport. Then one month later you will apply for the one year extension of stay.
VISIT THE LOCAL IMMIGRATION OFFICE AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE - OR HAVE THE FIANCÉ GO BEFORE HAND TO GET THE HAND OUT
Alternatively you could apply for the non o in one of the many Thai consulates in a neighboring country.
Each has thier own specific requirements.
If you do go that route then ask a question relevant to that consulate for the finer details.
(That’s what I went through just over a year ago)
