I got my DTV yesterday - just have to have the documents ready. I did it all online. Employment letter stating you’re remote. Bank account proving you have enough funds. Company proof of existence.

It indeed is not strange that a country wants you to show you have enough money for your first stay of 180 days and to travel back.

yeah the equivalent for me is 20,000 Canadian I would have to show that I guess

Yes, you can show the 500k THB in Canadian or any other currency.
