My husband just got our 2 visas from the embassy!!! 🙌🏼😆
Documents provided
For him as main DTV holder:
- 500k THB on a bank account at date of application
- letter of acceptance from a Muay Thai school on Koh Lanta
- price 5,600,000 IDR
For me as spouse:
- proof of relationship - copy of our civil union certification from Amsterdam (NL)
- copy of his passport
He gave both applications on Monday around 1pm. And got the visas on Thursday at 1.30pm. 3 days like they announce on the website and when you drop the application.
I did not have to be present which allowed me to stay on Bali with our kids.
He only had to proove 1x 500k THB for both of us.
The MT school on Lanta gave a pretty high price to agree to give him the letter.
Note my husband DOES plan on training in MT but NOT everyday because as a family it just doesn’t work. And they were offering daily training at first.
He managed to get the price gor down a bit but still it was quite an expense. Something to take into account when applying for soft power DTV
I feel joy and relief that we are to enjoy Thailand again.
Also happy to answer any questions!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the successful acquisition of Digital Nomad Visas (DTV) by a couple, highlighting specific documentation and requirements for the process. Key documents included proof of relationship, a bank statement showing 500k THB, and an acceptance letter from a Muay Thai school. The poster shares their experience of receiving the visas in three days while emphasizing the importance of the acceptance letter's cost and terms. They also address common questions regarding visa applications for children, the need for translation of documents, and whether multiple bank statements were required.
So, you did not have to provide any documents re your accommodation in Thailand ? (I was expecting to have to provide something like a rent/lease agreement)
Some guy left a very good explanation of the whole visa application process at Jakarta embassy on Google maps - including times for applications and times for visa passport/visa collection, and other tips. just click on the embassy and you will see it - I found it very very useful
Congrats 💥Curious about the acceptance letter, how many months you need to proof a muay thai class to be paid upfront? And how many classes weekly, what is the minimum required?example: 1 class weekly for 3 months enough?
no idea. The school did not want to give my husband the letter if he was not committing to min 200h. It may differ every time and for every school. Pick school and ask them
Maryam Ja We are planning to do the same strategy with our 3 children who are 2 to 6 years old. I personally don't understand why they have to pay for a visa when they can't be charged an overstay fee and can't even have negative records.
yes, i have 3 kids, 1 born here. Overstayed for almost a year but we will be flying after our ed-visa expires and apply for DTV. Your situation is the as mine, i just want to see the options
Also wondering how you managed it for your kids? Did you need the THB amount only once as listed above or on both your accounts each (and how about the kids' additional amount if applicable?)
may I ask what the benefit of that is? You have kids who can only stay a very limited time and you/husband can stay 180 days. How are you planning to deal with that issue?
respectfully, are you nuts? Your child would still be illegally in the country. Plus you (well, they) can be denied entry in the future even if the child can’t be fined. Wth!?
