What are the steps and requirements for obtaining a DTV visa at the Thai embassy in Myanmar?

I got DTV today at the Thai embassy in Yangon, Myanmar. The first time it was rejected because there was no labor office stamp. After a month, I was able to apply again as a director 😁😁😁

I applied as the main applicant for myself and as a spouse for my wife.

Both don't even have to go. I went to submit the form alone. I answered the interview alone at 2 pm and paid USD800. The visa can be obtained within three working days.

The documents posted

For the main applicant myself

- cover letter

- Company Certificate

- Company Extract Form

- Meeting Minutes (In the minutes of the meeting, wrote that all directors know and support that I will be working in Thailand, the business is an e-commerce model, so most of the directors are working remotely, and that the office will issue a recommendation letter for DTV visa application, and signed the names of all directors)

- Recommendation Letter (paraphrase the information from the meeting minutes and signed by a director)

- COMPANY business profile (I added it to impress. I took a screen shot of the company website and Facebook page and added it.

- I showed the 500,000 baht with a 6-month statement from Bangkok Bank. The 500,000 baht was added to the account a week before.

- Certificate of residency

The documents submitted for the Spouse

- Marriage contract and notary

- Sponsorship Letter (I wrote that when did we get married, how important is it to live with me, and how do I take responsibility for her livelihood and health)

- I added 500,000 baht to the woman's Kasikorn Bank Account. (This makes it more impressive. A sponsorship letter is enough.)

- Certificate of residency and notary

- My passport copy

The interview is casual. Tell me your favorite places in Bangkok, that's all.

that's all. It's not difficult. It's easy. Apply yourself.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully obtained a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) at the Thai embassy in Yangon after an initial rejection. They applied as the main applicant and for their spouse without needing both to attend the embassy in person. The total fee paid was USD 800 for both applications. Required documents included a cover letter, company certificate, bank statement showing a balance of 500,000 baht, and marriage-related documents for the spouse. The interview was informal, and the visa processing time was three working days.

May I know after six months, do you still need to show money to extend visa?

I think no need to show. Because once you enter Thailand, you will get 6 months valid visa stamp. Before 6 months expires, you exit and enter Thailand again, then you will get another visa stamp valid for 6 months again.

Hi, it is not working like that, you don't need to leave Thailand for the extension. You need to leave Thailand after 1 year, this is the maximum time you can stay without leaving the country.

I know DTV extension for another 6 months. But why you spend 10,000 THB for that? It is better to go Cambodia or Laos by car.

Also your extension gets only one time, you will have to leave whatsoever after that.

That’s why I choose for option to leave the country every 6 months . This one will also automatically solve the problem for the question here.

Maybe it is a good thing for you, but finally, flights, buses, hotels, time etc... you will spend that money or more for sure (I am here for 8 years already, and believe I did many visa runs 🙂 ).

more info

"To extend the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand for another 6 months, you need to apply at the Immigration Office within Thailand. The extension process typically involves submitting the required documents, paying the applicable fee (which is 10,000 THB for a six-month extension), and ensuring that you meet all the visa conditions."

yes yangon still accepting walk-in applications. Though you will need to book the appointment from embassy’s website. They only take USD400 only after your application is successful. That’s nice

no need to have 500k bhat through all 6 months . I just had 500k bhat just a week before application of visa. Myanmar embassy is good to accept with final balance.

I heard some other countries embassy need to maintain 500k for a certain period of time. You just check with the embassy you will go or check with the one who get successful from the same embassy you will apply

So you needed to provide extensive business Details and also obtain a stamp from Thai labor, I'm assuming your or the business is in Bangkok? I haven't heard of it being this difficult, as I am planning on using my LLC in America and creating an employment contract for myself. Please explain how your situation was different I really hope to get approved, thanks.

hi , no need to obtain from Thai labor. I mean labor stamp on employment contract for Myanmar company. In Myanmar, the employment contract normally need stamp from labor office . That’s why.

Also the DTV visa itself is just for workation , staying in Thailand while working for your company in mother country or other country. No need to show business or business activity in Thailand. DTV is just visit visa , intended for workation

The labor stamp from the Burmese authorities sounds a little complex but obviously doesn't apply if you apply with documents from a company that doesn't do business in Myanmar.

I paid $500 USD here in Canada, each for my wife and I, $1,000 USD total for both of us, the Thai consulate in Vancouver was easy to deal with, once I submitted the proper documents I got my visa the next day, I immediately applied for my wife and again got her visa the next day, all online, no in person to the consulate

10.000 != 400$ , my good! 10.000 = 298.67$ , I don’t understand what they are doing. It seems like embassies can charge whatever they want, regardless of the rules??

They literally make the rules...that's totally normal. 10k is the official price from the ministry, the Embassy adds fees for their work and use their own exchange rate. Average wordwide is about 14,000 Baht, but look at NZ... they charge 2,000 $, that's about 41,000 Baht... ;-)
