DTV Success Story

I was granted a DTV visa from the consulate in Taipei. After being granted, I then submitted for my wife and 2 year old son, both as dependents, which were also approved! I applied under the workation category. Along with my passport and visa application, here are the other documents I submitted-

-3 months of bank statements

-letter from my employer stating I could work remotely and all of my work was for companies outside of Thailand

-Employment contract

-Employers Article of incorporation

-Because my bank statements were long, they also asked I submit a separate statement from the same bank account which only listed the deposits from my employer. I get paid on a per project basis, so I think they also asked for this because the payments come in on random dates so it would have been a bit tedious for them to review my entire statements to find them.

-savings account statement which had 502,000 bhat in it

-Passport photograph

For my wife and son I only had to submit their passports, visa applications, photographs, birth certificate for son, marriage certificate for wife, copy of my DTV visa, copy of my passport, and the same financials I submitted for my visa. I was told at the counter they actually probably wouldn’t need the financials since I was already approved for my DTV but kept them with their applications just in case.

My visa was granted within 24 hours of applying. The next day I submitted wife and son’s docs and visa was also granted within 24 hours. All in all my experience in Taipei was phenomenal! I know stipulations could change anytime, but for the time being, I highly recommend the Thai consulate in Taipei.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a successful application for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) granted in Taipei, including details on required documents for both the primary applicant and their dependents. The applicant shared their experience of submitting financial statements, employment verification, and personal documents for the visa, along with feedback from the consulate regarding potential requirements for dependents.'

Congrats! I wonder what they would ask if you are business owner and do not depend on anyone to prove your digital nomad status.

May I ask if your marriage certificate is in English? My husband dtv visa been approved (we are using an agent), but we are stuck at our marriage certificate being in Spanish (destination wedding married in mexico), we already had it translated and notarized but the agent said it will need to get legalized by mexico embassy, but then mexico embassy said we have to get it legalized back in mexico which is a pain to do so.. so wonder if I should just give up and apply for soft power individually instead..

yes our marriage certificate is in English however the main thing they wanted to verify was that our names matched our passports. When I submitted the certificate the officer had me highlight both of our names on it.

I had the total amount in there for a couple of weeks however the account did have about

of the amount in it for about two months. I have heard they don’t really check how long it’s been in there, they just want to see you have it. They’re much more interested in scrutinizing your source of income along with how much you make on a monthly basis. 3-6 months of pay stubs or deposits from your employer is definitely something I’d bring if I were you

however you still have to provide a few months statements as they will look if you have consistent payments coming in, either salary or client payments from freelance projects. The amount of those payment doesnt seem to matter as long as there was a consistent pattern of payments coming in - bring payslips or invoices

yes they want to see that. Especially if you get paid inconsistently. For instance, I had gotten paid 3 times in October for large amounts but only one time in September for a smaller amount. So they wanted to see a couple previous months to make sure my average income was acceptable.

I get paid different amounts into 2 different bank accounts. My 500k THB will be in a another bank account. I think it will be easier to go to an Embassy where final balanced statement is suffice.

my payments and savings account are also separate. I submitted bank statements for my savings account as well as a different checking account where I get paid. From what I’ve read it seems like Taipei is the most flexible neighboring country but I could be mistaken.

I was all set on going there but past few weeks more people have posted stricter reviews of financials. They had no issues with the 3 accounts? They are going online later this month, not sure if online would make it more difficult.

yes same experience. Just 500k isnt enough. They asked for payslips or invoices and transactions of incoming payments.

The incoming payments means your salary? They want to see the salary deposits into your account?
