i’m on the initial 3 months for a marriage non-o.. Keeping the money in the bank for 2 months for my 1 year extension. I haven’t used a family extension yet.. I’m assuming that this is my next option
I am on my initial 3 months from marriage! They were pretty strict at Chaengwattana to start off the process so I can assume they will be the same on this.
I’ve heard very small chance for them to give grace but still a bit concerned.
Thanks for the replies guys. Yes this is a marriage visa, I’m on my initial 3 months and had lined up my money to be in my BBL account for 2 months prior to requesting the year extension.
My immigration is Chaengwattana. I have heard extremely strict from pretty much everyone but I have not used the family extension..
Do you folks recommend I visit immigration after the 2 month mark from initial deposit and then request extension based on that answer or should I just not waste my time waiting and request an extension immediately?
Visa runs + extension + non-visa entry will lead a lot of the IOs who are processing your entry to get suspicious. You’ll be pulled aside and if you don’t have proof of onward travel, 20k THB in cash and an amazing explanation then there’s a decent chance you’ll be turned away.
There’s also some unwritten rule right now that 180 days per calendar year is the maximum, but I don’t imagine that’s the case if you use an agent service to fast track your entry.
She can do a border bounce with an agency that takes her to and from the border. They grease he wheels at the border, usually Cambodia so it is effortless.
BUT
If you do a border run, it is very frowned upon by immigration officers when entering via air, expect a high level of scrutiny from them if you get the wrong one and there is a chance you can be turned away.
The same agencies that do these border runs also sell safe entry services at airports to avoid this scrutiny. Same concept, they make it hassle free to re-enter.
