Here's my experience with the Thai Consulate in LA for my DTV:

Applied on August 16.

Further requests more docs on Aug 23.

Approved on Sept 12.

Any requests for extra docs, expect 5 extra business days as that is written on the website. Just know that.

Very easy. I applied as a freelancer. Lists of things I've provided:

1. My main portfolio website and 4 projects and impressive case studies I've recently done related to my recent and current clients.

2. Last year's tax document

3. My joint bank account showing the total of $30k (shows my address, name, and my husbands name). Along with statements of 1 month only.

4. Provided 6 recent invoices for my freelance work and for extra, showed the total paid invoices cost starting beginning of January of this year to Aug 16, as proof that money is flowing in consistently.

5. Proof of freelance contract employment.

My husband just turned in his application for marriage affiliation with me for DTV. That should be an automatic, and easy acceptance.

I hope this helps!

Congratulations! Thank you for the information. I applied on August 22nd at LA as a remote worker and still haven't heard anything either way. Hopefully I hear back soon! ๐Ÿคž

I applied in LA on Aug 18 and got my visa Sep 13, less than 24 hours before my departure flight. According to posts in another group, it's common that they provide it within 1-2 days of the flight we used during application.

Did they ask for your website, portfolio and case studies?

Yes. They ask for Portfolio/Website. As for case study, I added that in just in case

. Plus, I show off my skill as a UI/UX designer.

As a digital designer with an LLC side hustle I'm considering this approach vs simply a retirement visa. Have a portfolio, and other things needed to establish that I'm a freelance business. Were previsous year taxes a requirement or was a bank statement with customer invoices sufficient?

Did they require and contract agreements with customers?

was there an ongoing income requirement for digital nomad? As a freelancer you know things can be feast or famine. ๐Ÿ™‚

lastly (and I can look this up, but since I'm already typing). was there a health insurance requirement and how did you handle that?

Give them everything you can, i gave them a bachelors degree and emails with clients in SG and plane tickets to SG even.

Oh yeah. I knew I was forgetting something as I was writing down. Yes, you do need to provide the contract with your client(s).

Also, the tax document is sometimes requested. I heard from other freelancers. So I would just provide that upfront so they don't ask for more info. I would put in the customer invoice/statements as more secure proof.
