does anybody know if people in Chiang Mai on a 30-day visa exemption can go to immigration and get some kind of extension or new visa? (I'm from the UK)
If I should go to immigration for an extension or some other solution that will allow me to stay here till I can fly home, do I need to bring anything apart from my passport?
Many thanks in advance and I hope you're all managing to find solutions for yourselves.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A person in Chiang Mai on a 30-day visa exemption can go to the immigration office to apply for a 30-day extension for 1900 Baht. It's recommended to check the specific requirements for documents, but bringing your passport is essential. Additional documents may be needed, so it's advisable to inquire further based on your location.
OK, thanks very much for the info! I'll see if I can find the best time / day to go but I suppose past experience will be no indication of future congestion...
Unless I'm mistaken all you need to get a 30 day extension on a 30 day visa exempt entry is your passport, 1900baht a filled out form and the copies <- all things you can do near the immigration office
IF you are still on your original 30 day visa exempt entry stamp you can go to the immigration office that serves the area where you live and apply for a 30 day extension for 1900baht.
