TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a 30-day extension of your 60-day tourist visa in Krabi, you will need to prepare several documents, including: a completed TM.7 application form, copies of the data page of your passport, your entry stamp, your visa, and the TM.6 departure card. Additionally, bring a passport-sized photo. It's also recommended to have a letter from your hotel or landlord confirming your address, though this is not always required depending on the immigration office. Make sure to apply before local holidays and consider the extension process timing as you will need to address your travel plans thereafter.

David Broadfoot Thank you. I hope Immigration extend a friend, 30 days, who is form Russia on an exempt visa.

If a person overstay for a day? It would cost 500 baht? Where does he pay the fine?

you could just go to the border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in&out of another country and then stamp back into thailand to get a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp.

OR you could just pay the 500 baht per day for the 2 days you're going to overstay.

You will also need a letter from your hotel or landlord to show where your stayng

Sabai lodge is a hotel. In which case they would have registered you. For private residence it is different as the landlord or yourself have to submit the TM30. Could be a fine in your future...supposed to be Landlord....but then the Landlord doesn't need the extension does he..!!
Martin *********
I am staying at a private address and I would not have thought he registered me...maybe I could just say somewhere like sabai lodge soi 2 pattaya

@Martin ********
no, but I believe they make you go upstairs and fill out a TM.30 form if you're staying at a private residence.
Martin *********
Do you know if jomtien ask for a letter of where your staying
Tod *********
that depends on the immigration office. not every one wants that.

I'll be going to Krabi, sorry. I'm in Ao nang.😉 What size photo?
Robert *******
If you're in Ao Nang, stop next to the exit of the Makro, there is a photo shop who will make the pictures. If you tell them for Immigration they know the size and background, if you say for Work Permit, they open computer and put a nice suit with tie under you head. Alternative: On the way to Immigration in Krabi is the Ministry of Transport, at the back is a restaurant with a photo/copy shop.

you pretty much need the stuff
@Rei***
, and I stated. You can go any time to get the extension, there is no reason to wait for your stamp to run out because they ADD the 30 days to your current stamp.
Tod *********
how about telling us where you are in thailand :/

As a rule you need a filled out TM.7 application for extension, copies of: the data page of your passport, the entry stamp, the visa and the TM.6 departure card along with a passport sized photo.

Depending on where you're applying for the extension you may also need the receipt of having filed a TM.30

To the best of my knowledge, yes, still a problem. The immigration officer will expect you to have a tm6 in your passport. The action he takes will depend on his mood at the time, and his interpretation of the rules. You may be taken from the queue and into a side office to be processed. That's the best I can tell you, remember Thai immigration officers are police officers, don't argue with them.

thanks for the info
@T**
and
@Mi**
... i've just repacked all my bags and definitely don't have this. if i didn't want to extend but do a visa run and get a new 60 day setv (or even just leave the country) would not having this still be a problem?
Tod *********
@Sa***
, if you don't have it, go get a police report stating you lost it,(police reports are free) then when you go for your extension show them the police report and they will most likely give you another one.

In theory they cannot charge you to give you another one but as
@Mi**
, said sometimes they do :(

@Sarah *******
you must find this tm6 card, if you still have it. Thai Immigration are very strict about this document being kept with your passport. I lost one a year ago and had to pay 300 baht for a replacement at Korat immigration office.

@Sarah *******
when you entered thailand you filled out a two part card called the TM.6 arrival/departure card, you gave one part to the immigration people when you stamped into the country and they gave the other part back to you after they stamped the date on it.

It looks like this:

@Ast***
i've definitely only got my visa label in my passport :-(
Astrid **********
Its stapled in your passport. Its the other half of your white arrival slip :-)

what is a tm 6 departure card and where do you get one?
