Hi guys, quick one. I'm trying to get a STV and they just said hotel booking confirmations from Agoda/Booking is not enough, because I need to provide the following:

> 7. Accommodation reservation:

> 7.2 In case of staying in a hotel, a rental condominium/house please submit a copy of booking confirmation directly from the hotel at least for 75 days or through the period of staying in Thailand after 14 days quarantine (ASQ) with name, address, contact details and *tax payment ID number* of the hotel/ leased accommodation.

Does somebody know how I can get these? None of the regular post-ASQ hotels care to share any kind of document or they don't understand it at all. Hard to blame then, why wouldn't regular Agoda confirmation be good enough? :D

Does somebody know some kind of workaround maybe? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain an STV (Special Tourist Visa) in Thailand, you need a specific type of accommodation booking confirmation directly from the hotel, including the hotel's tax ID number. Regular booking confirmations from platforms like Agoda or Booking.com are not sufficient. It's recommended to contact the hotel directly to obtain this required documentation. Each extension of the STV will require the same documents. Additionally, it's important to have comprehensive health insurance and proof of your stay at an ASQ hotel.

To answer the question directly, you can get the booking confirmation directly from the hotel itself. Most hotels have open rooms, and I'm positive the hotel owner will give you a tax ID number easily if you prepay for 75 days.

Yep...its very very strict.

Provide the actual documents as required

You will get the STV.

And for each 3 month extension you will have to provide the same required documents for each 3 month extension.

And do yourself a huge favor...buy the full 9 months of required insurance as its very difficult to get the policy extended when already inside Thailand. Several expats have been denied extension as they could not provide needed proof of insurance.

Recent report posted:

I was in Nonthaburi to extend my STV visa. Here's what the officer asked

1. Copy of passport

2. Copy of TM6

3. Copy of STV visa page on your passport

4. TM7, use the last updated one or get it from Immigration Office. With a photo affixed.

5. STM 2. Declaration that you're aware about overstay and the penalties.

6. ASQ certificate letter stating that you've completed 14 days quarantine.

7. Some kind of proof that you indeed stayed at the ASQ, i produced my ASQ hotel receipt ( room charges )

8. Health Insurance showing coverage amount, line by line items in details of IP, OP, Covid coverage amount.

9. Rental. To state clearly rental period when to when, at where, 4 signatures either passport or Thai ID at the end of agreement ( the usual standard contract ). If the rental's address is in Bangkok, you can only extend visa in Bangkok. Rental period should cover at least 3 months more.

And sign at every page.

Good Luck !

Great advice on the insurance, thank you. And yet I was thinking they can't make things more complex to handle. Once again I was so wrong 😀

be wise...buy at least 9 months insurance.

buying insurance upfront is much easier :) If you pay for everything upfront, it's a breeze to get the extension of stays.

For what? Hotels or insurance? For hotels, you'll have to contact hotels on your own. For insurance, you'll have to use preapproved insurance.

You get what you pay for.
