For my STV application they ask a fully paid accommodation booking for my entire stay(2 months) in Thailand. There surely must be another way... Anyone that can help and/or give advise? Much appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
The STV (Special Tourist Visa) requires proof of fully paid accommodation for the intended stay in Thailand, which can be limiting for some applicants. Several community members suggest alternatives such as obtaining a TR (single entry tourist visa) that is suitable for a 2-month stay and allows for extensions once in Thailand. Others recommend booking fully refundable accommodations through platforms like Agoda or Booking.com, which can be canceled after obtaining the visa. A general consensus indicates that the STV has many strict requirements, making it less suitable for short-term visitors.
I totally agree. If I knew all the requirements beforehand, I would never applied for this visa. No wonder they first ask for a full payment before they start the application process. I decided to give up and no longer proceed with the visa application. 70 dollar gone. I rather spend my money in Bali instead
The STV (Special Tourist Visa) was designed for people who own a condo in Thailand or return to the same place every year. This allows them to stay up to 9 months, but it has many strict requirements such as proof of pre-paid accommodation. There is no way around this as it is clearly spelled out in the visa requirements.
If you are only planning on staying for 2 months, then get a TR (single entry tourist visa) which is good for 60 days and can be extended for another 30 days in the country. This visa does not have all the extra long-stay requirements.
