TLDR : Answer Summary
The STV (Special Tourist Visa) requires proof of fully paid accommodation for the entire duration of the stay. The original poster (OP) is concerned about a one-day shortfall in their booking from the required accommodation period. Community members suggest providing alternative proof of address, such as a credit card statement or mobile phone contract, since the OP does not have a utility bill. It is clarified that a TR (Tourist) visa does not require booked accommodation for the full duration, but proof may still be needed for the ThailandPass system.

Is this just for 90 days with proof as I will be doing a 60 day visa does the same apply to this aswell to book for the full duration??

@Liam *******
no for a TR visa (60 days) you don’t need proof of booked accommodation
Stuart *********
You will for the ThailandPass system, but not for the full 60 days

or that its not paid?

I applied for one last summer and got away with a booking.com booking that was easily cancelable. Maybe theyve tightened things up but I'd say the lack of utility bill with home address is the bigger thing. They want to know you have a home to return to I think. You not got a mobile phone contract? Statement from that should be okay

they really state that it needs to be payed up front. I've got away with a rental contract with my name on it and the mention that I payed monthly. No problem there but also different in every country.

Most people book and pay and then cancel.

Done this, but just realised I missed one day? would this be what's causing the problem?

Hey Josh, have you been recommended to the hotel or hoping it’s a good one? I’m doing the same as you hopefully this month but a lot of reviews aren’t great on the hotels?

Print a credit card statement if you have one. Normally will have an address on their

For the STV you need fully paid up accommodation for the entire duration. I guess from their email you’ll need a utility bill.

I also applied from the UK, but they did not ask for a utility bill, most recent bank statement was requested though.

not sure how you get around that. Once I had to get proof of address to open a bank account (in Ireland). I told them we rent and all bills are in the landlords name. The bank said no problem. We’ll write you a letter, which will arrive tomorrow, just bring that in as proof. No idea if that would fly.
