Question about immigration requiring receipt for accommodation that includes hotel's taxpayer number [Tourist visa application] - - -
Hi there peeps!
When you apply for a tourist visa to come to Thailand, the 6th written requirement on the checklist is - '**Proof of payment for accommodation for the whole period of stay in Thailand
(the receipt must state the tax payer number of the relevant
hotel/accommodation)'....**
But from my experience when you book a hotel in Thailand through Agoda, Agoda does not usually give you a 'tax invoice' but rather a 'booking confirmation' instead [which does not include the hotels tax number].
If you have recently applied for a Tourist visa, did you only show a 'booking confirmation' or did you also have to produce an actual tax invoice?
Thank you! (🌸◡‿◡)
TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a tourist visa to Thailand, you need proof of payment for accommodation, including the hotel's taxpayer number on the receipt. Many users report that regular booking confirmations from platforms like Agoda may not meet this requirement as they typically do not include the tax number. However, some have successfully used these confirmations for visa applications, and some embassies may only require proof for the first few nights of accommodation. To ensure acceptance, it may be better to book directly with hotels that can provide the necessary receipt. Tips include considering booking.com for flexible payment options and confirming embassy-specific requirements.
