I NEED TO GO TO IMMIGRATION TO GET A RESIDENCY CERTIFICATE WITH MY PICTURE ON IT WHAT DO I need to bring with me I'd have a TM 30
Answer summary
To obtain a residency certificate with a photo in Thailand, you need to bring the following items: a passport with a copy of the information page, a TM30 form, a TM18 to fill, one or two passport-sized photos (requirements may vary by location), a rental agreement if applicable, and some cash (usually around 500 to 1000 baht). Requirements may differ based on the location, as some immigration offices attach a photo while others do not.

Buriram immigration does not attach photos to RC. But Chonburi immigration did. 500 baht for RC. You will need an RC for opening a bank account, vehicle purchases and to get a Thai drivers license. I had several 2cm x 2cm photos taken just in case I ever need them. Always a good idea to make several copies of your passport data page, entry stamp page, tdac, TM30, rental agreement, etc. I also always sign my full name (as shown on my passport) in blue ink on all my copies.
Stuart Johnston yes is does. The yellow house book is a substitute for the "certificate of residency" from Immigration. However 3 years ago it was not accepted on the DLT when I applied for the extension of my Thai dirver's license. My girlfriend needed to intervene, show them her blue housebook and tell them I still live with her. Only after that, myyellow housebook got accepted
Couple of years back when i got this letter picture was no longer on the letter. Anyway important are the tm30. your passport info page, visa page and entry stamped page
More and more local Thai Immigration Offices do put a Photo on the Thai Immigration Residence Certificate, with Chiang Mai Immigration Office definitely putting a Photo on the Immigration Residence Certificate
