TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a tourist visa to Thailand, the date you should indicate for your return ticket depends on the requirements of the consulate or embassy you are applying to. Some may require proof of onward travel within 60 days of entry, while others may allow up to 90 days. It's important to check the specific requirements of the consulate you are dealing with.

I would guess it is for each person applying for a visa. Immigration in Thailand, accept 40,000 baht as a family. I've no idea about consulates abroad though.
I can't remember there requirements off hand. I believe they want onward flights out of Thailand, 20,000 baht per person in a bank account and booked accomodation. Somebody else will confirm right or wrong.
Hey Tod, what an experience today at the consulate. I use the wrong form (my fault), i cut the copy of my passport to his size - was wrong, need a bank statement from my german bank in english and copy of us 5 passports and a statement, need to bring in a invoice for the first hotel - we stay in a house of a friend - need there statement and passport copy... . I think i will try again from Indonesia, was also easier to get in Germany :o
thanks Tod. Maybe did you know when we make a border run what kind of visa do we can get after these 90 days? 30 what I can extend to 60 or can I request again 90 days tourist?
It depemds where you apply, some consulates/embassys want to see proof of onward travel within 60 days, some 90 days and some dont require any onward proof. Check the website where you're applying
