TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a 60-day tourist visa to Thailand, it's generally recommended to show an onward ticket rather than a return ticket. While some applicants report being able to use a one-way flight without issues, others have had their applications rejected and were asked to provide evidence of outbound travel. Alternatives like a bus ticket to a neighboring country are also considered acceptable.
It’s up to you whether you risk being asked or not. Most people don’t get asked to show a return ticket, occasionally someone will be asked. I arrived in April on a 60 day tourists visa, didn’t book a return ticket and was never asked to show one 😊
When I applied for my visa in March and uploaded one way, they rejected my application and asked to shown a flight out of Thailand within 60 days of arrival.
