Background

I submited for a 60day tourist visa from Korea. My husband and daughters have been accepted mine keeps coming back asking for bank details. The bank accounts are in my married name and passports in my maiden name. First sent my savings and old current account and photo ID with name change it got rejected. Then I sent my personal current account with marriage certificate. It wasnt accepted. They wanted 3 months and my statements are only monthly. Then sent my married joint bank account and wedding certificate (same as I sent last time was accepted in 2023) with all three months transactions. All this was screenshot as can only add one file and they accepted it that way all the other time. Now they are asking for a statement not a screen shot.

Iam tired of the back and forth.

I dont know at this point which bank account to send or how to get one bank statement to say 3months. Most my money is in a saving account with an annual statement from last year but shows up on a statement with not enough money but was accepted for my daughter. The others are monthly do I send the monthly with the most end balance. Or the most recent end balance.

If there looking for my wages they go into wise account in different currency which iam not sure I want try find statments and open a whole new can worms.

They seen 4 bank accounts (out of the 6 I have) so they know I have enough money to support my stay and get home.

My daughter was accepted from my first bank details and a birth cirtificate which where screen shots. Husband accepted from a screen shot of his bank account and not the joint bank account.

I changed my name as I had bills and cash cheques ect in my married name but had a long time left on passport so was advised to not change it untill expires.

Can anyone tell me what it is they want so I can move on and enjoy my trip 🤔

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is facing difficulties in obtaining a 60-day tourist visa for Thailand from Korea, primarily due to discrepancies between her bank account names and passport name. I also applied for a 60 day Thailand tourist visa while in Korea in December 2023. I have a US passport. There was never any question to answer about my finances. No question about onward flight. So, I suppose it is different if you are a US citizen. Just want to also make you aware that I completed my application on my first day in Korea. My Korean holiday was 4 days. I was long gone from Korea before they issued my visa 3 weeks later. I also had to arrive in Thailand using the 30 day visa waiver. I did use my 60 day tourist visa a few months later.

Hope this information is useful for you

The tourist visa is supposed to be applyed for from your country of residence, that may be the problem, since the UK Thai embassy, are used to paperwork as it is done in the UK.

Which could differ from the way things are done in Korea.

not technically true it can be applied for from any country with a Thai embasy you need address and entry stamp/visa for the country your applying and a home address your returning to. Which is why my husband and daughter both have the visas issued from the Thai Embassy in Seoul. Like said I successfully applied for two out of three with exactly the same information.

Can you have your bank add your maiden name onto your existing account? Many women use their maiden name with married name on their accounts. Like a hyphenated name. I have the exact problem you have. I gave up trying to apply for the 60 day tourist visa due to my different name on bank record vs passport. I traveled on 30 day exempt, and extension. As I understand, I can do this twice if by land or unlimited if by air. But I’m going to ask my bank if they can add a hyphenated maiden name to my account, or, maybe even easier, open a new account in my maiden name.

never had problem last time but will either change one account back or open one account just for visas purphase when home.

Why don’t you forget about the tourist visa. Enter visa exempt for 30 days and extend in country for another 30 days. Gives you 60 days total without showing any finances. (Assumes you hold a visa exempt passport).

can you exstend a UK 30 day on arrival my research says you cant. We exstended the 90 day one last time and did a land crossing. They where both annoying with a toddler 🤣

UK get 30 day visa exempt stamp on arriving. This can be extended once for another 30 days in country at any Immigration office. Very easy process

Thank you I rather avoid the waiting in line but I know I have a back up that not as far as Loas

you can also use an agent for an extension. I hate waiting too.

you have UK passport so don't get visa on arrival, you enter "visa exempt" which is for 30 days. You can extend that for further 30 days.

Get a new passport. May feel like a bit of a waste, but having a passport that doesn't show your current name but a former one is far worse. The consequences you see here.

Thank you but it doesnt help currently as Iam in korea nowhere near my embassy and its been submitted with that passport and name. Would be easier to open a bank account in my maiden name when I return home amd keep enough for all future visas application in it but again not a option currently as Iam in korea and then fly straight to Thailand.

come to Thailand on exemption, extend, and if the family also extends their visa (to 90), do a run to get another exemption.

only need 6 weeks so the family are fine this or go to loas for the day are my back up. So I know I can go just evisa seemed easier with a toddler 🙃 will keep trying for the unicorn pdf as I have the money and I had same bank and passport last year I got the evisa 🤔

just call your bank and get an account summary for the last three months. That is what is wanted, and it will all be on one page. That is very easy to do and get. Most all online banking has options to get your last three months of account balance.

e-visa is definitely preferred, so if you have the energy to give it one more go, I'd do that. If it fails again, just use exemption. You'll need to spend a day at immigrations to extend, which is the main reason the visa is preferred, but in the end it does solve the problem.

I can only comment on the issue of the 1 file ….

If you can only upload 1 document - download your 3 bank statements then go to “I love PDF” ( should come up when you google it) where you can merge all 3 statements into 1 PDF. Download the merged one and upload that. I don’t know about the other problems - but thought maybe the merging would help with the upload 😊

thank you I will try and add all the statments. Would you add all 3 acounts worth of 3 months statements. That be 9 statments or jist pick one account amd send 3 months.

one account that meets the requested requirements

@Michelle ************
I would pick one account and do 3 months - but I’m just guessing - I have no idea if that is the correct answer lol. The one that matches the name on your application and passport 😊

@Robert ****
how that any different than putting it all on a pdf and put to a visa application that already submited

the agent you hire in Thailand will print and hand carry your shit to immigration. He will grease it and fast track it. While you’re wandering around Korea picking your nose. They have ways.
